Monica Strømland works as an Associate Professor at the University of Agder, at the Department of Psychosocial Health, where her daily work includes teaching, research, and supervising students on topics such as ethics, legislation and organization in the health sector, research ethics, and the development of research projects, as well as master’s theses in psychosocial health.
Her research has primarily focused on the implementation of human rights, particularly within contexts related to psychosocial health, recovery, and child welfare, with special emphasis on the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
In addition, Monica Strømland serves as Chair of the Board of The Foundation for the Promotion of Freedom of Expression in Mental Health Care in Norway.
