Director of The Art of Living
Lydia Diana Kok is a 24-year old documentary director. She finished her bachelor’s degree at the Norwegian Television School in 2025, and has since then been working at Fabelaktiv, a production company located in Hamar. In her work she wants to portray what it means to be human, with life’s ups and downs, and all the stories, experiences, and emotions we carry with us.
The making of The Art of Living began with a wish to open up about a subject she experienced as extremely taboo, and therefore something we almost never talk about, even though it happens so often. She wanted to balance the heavy darkness and the feeling of having no other way out, with a message of hope. She therefore wanted to focus on those who have found their way back to life, to show anyone currently struggling that there is a way out, even when it doesn’t feel like it. And that is how she connected with Anniken, whose story the movie is about.
