Maggie Wright

Producer/director of «Emotional CPR Awakens Our Hearts»

Maggie is the founder/director of Families in Trauma and Recovery, a non profit set up to support family members navigating trauma and the feeling they had lost hope. The

motivation was Maggie’s own personal experiences and feeling there was not enough support, especially in non-clinical settings. Due to this she set up the organisation using peer-led approaches and developing community led co-produced training which can be delivered to community groups as well as public and private sector staff.

Along with the development of peer training, Maggie also incorporated Emotional CPR into her training as it complimented and added greater depth to the peer training. She is also a qualified trainer, and currently sits on the Development Team of eCPR.

Maggie sits on the Scottish Recovery Network’s Peer Strategic Leadership Group, The Scottish Governments Lived Experience Panel and the local Fife Peer Network.

Due to her previous experience as a community film maker along with her her husband Steve, they were both able to follow Dr Dan Fisher’s journey as he brought emotional CPR to Scotland where it resonated deeply with an eager community.
