We have put a great deal of time and effort into applying to relevant foundations and organizations for financial support. Unfortunately, we have been turned down time and time again.
We have therefore decided to launch this crowdfunding campaign.
The festival will go ahead, but we are currently short NOK 150,000 to cover the remaining costs of renting the cinema and post-festival administrative support.
We already have core funding from Mad in America, as well as support from the Eastern Norway Film Center and the municipality of Lillehammer. Many people have also purchased festival passes, helping to cover the costs.
Still, we need your help to close the gap.
A festival built on commitment and volunteerism
A remarkable amount of volunteer work and idealism has gone into creating this festival – from the organizers, filmmakers, speakers, artists, and many others involved.
Filmmakers and other contributors are taking part without payment or reimbursement for travel expenses.
This is possible because of a shared commitment to change: to develop more human, relational and socially oriented approaches to mental health, and to encourage a broader conversation about how we understand and respond to psychological suffering and life crises.
Your contribution makes a difference
You can contribute any amount – large or small. Every contribution help.
As a thank-you, everyone who contributes will receive access to recordings from the festival, including talks, panel discussions, and presentations. These will be made available through links and passwords after the festival.
We will also share links to a selection of films from the program that are legally available to watch online.
Organizations and individuals contributing NOK 5,000 or more will have their name or logo featured on the festival website and in the festival program.
Our collaborating partners
The festival is organized in collaboration with:
Mad in America and the Mad in the World network
SPoR (the Norwegian Nurses Association’s professional group for mental health and substance abuse), SELL (Center for Lifelong Learning at Innlandet University), the Norwegian TV School in Lillehammer, and the Amandus Blikkfang festival.
Thank you to everyone who has already contributed – and to everyone who helps us spread the word.
Every contribution, and every share, helps.
