Hilde Marie Rekstad is the author of the book «Otherwise, You’re on Your Own. When Emotions Are Treated as Illness». The book reflects on how limited a biomedical psychiatric perspective is when applied to real life, and thus how potentially misleading and life-threatening treatment can become. The story consequently took the form of a thriller.
Hilde Marie is a writer and editor for the online magazine Mad in Norway, takes on assignments as a lecturer, and is involved in human rights work through the user and advocacy organization WSO – We Shall Overcome. She holds a Cand. Education degree and a master’s in educational-psychological counseling.
